Biography

Jesus Pastor

Born in Madrid, Jesus Pastor commenced his illustrious career at the Victor Ullate school at the age of nine.  He subsequently joined the Ullate company in 1992. In just four short years, he was promoted to principal dancer of the company.

In 1995, Jesus was awarded the Gold Medal at the Eurovision Competition for Young Dancers and was invited to perform as a guest artist at Maurice Bejart in the ballet Nomos Alpha alongside Sylvie Guillem.

In 1998, Jesus joined the Compañia Nacional de Danza under artistic director Nacho Duato and continued to tour nationally and internationally.  Jesus then joined the Scottish Ballet, his sublime performances, elegant line and handsome features earned several outstanding reviews in both the Scottish and Irish media.

Jesus entered the English National Ballet in 2001 as a senior soloist. In 2003, he danced the lead role in the world tour of Matthew Bourne’s all male Swan Lake.  His powerful, yet graceful performance in this production earned Jesus a nomination for Best Dancer 2002 at the Prix Benois de la Danse in Moscow.

In 2003, Jesus joined the American Ballet Theatre as a soloist.  His arrival and addition to the company were received enthusiastically.  He danced the main roles of its repertoire for four years.

Currently Jesus resides in Spain where he has established his own company named “Human Dance Project”.

An apt inspiration for this virtuoso of strength and grace.  We look forward to the next step in Jesus prestigious career and await with bated breath.
